〈月下獨酌〉四首之一

 

花間一壺酒，獨酌無相親。
舉杯邀明月，對影成三人。
月既不解飲，影徒隨我身。
暫伴月將影，行樂須及春。
我歌月徘徊，我舞影零亂。
醒時同交歡，醉後各分散。
永結無情遊，相期邈雲漢。

꽃 사이에 술 한 병

이걸 친구 하나 없이 홀로 마시나요

술잔을 들어 밝은 달을 청하고

내 그림자를 마주해 셋이 되지만

달은 술 마신다는 뜻을 이해하지 못하고

그림자 또한 공연히 내 몸짓을 따라하네요

그래도 잠시 달과 그림자와 어울려

즐겁게 노니 이 기쁨이 봄까지 계속 되겠지요

내가 노래를 부르면 달이 빙빙 맴돌고

내가 춤을 추면 그림자가 어지럽게 흔들립니다

술 취하기 전에는 기쁨을 서로 나누고

취하면 각각으로 흩어지지만

별 생각 없이 여정에 함께 떠나

은하수처럼 멀리 가기로 기약합니다

"Drinking Alone Under the Moon," First of Four Poems

 

A jug of wine amidst flowers—

How do I drink it alone with no companion?

I raise the cup to invite the bright moon,

And with my shadow we become three.

The moon of course does not understand drinking;

The shadow purposelessly traces my body.

But I accompany the moon and the shadow anyway

The pursuit of pleasures must continue until springtime.

The moon wanders as I sing;

The shadow rattles when I dance.

Still sober, we share our joys;

After drunk, each goes its way.

Permanently joined for thoughtless journeys—

Perhaps to the remote Milky Way.
