〈偶題〉

 

冬湯夏水吾其飲，

冬裘夏葛吾其衣。

衣吾飲吾皆吾事，

莫將虛寂轉依俙。

 

               注：二句語出《列子·湯問》：「九土所資，或農或商，或田或漁，如冬裘夏葛，水舟陸車。」

 

허기 (호는 호은, 14세기)

 

"어쩌다 그냥 짓습니다"

 

겨울에는 따듯한 물, 여름에는 물,

      나는 그걸 마시고

겨울에는 가죽, 여름에는 삼베,

      나는 그걸 입습니다

내게 옷을 입히고 내게 물을 마시게 하는 것이

      내 일의 전부입니다

맑은 고요함을 침침한 어두움으로

      바꾸지 말아야 합니다

 

           주: 둘째 구절의 표현은 《열자·탕문》편에서 나왔습니다. "이 땅에서 재물은 농사를 짓거나 장사를 해서, 사냥을 하거나 고기를 잡아서 얻습니다. 겨울에는 가죽을 여름에는 삼베를 입고, 물에서는 배를 타고 뭍에서는 수레를 타는 것과 같은 이치입니다."

"Writing Casually by Chance"

 

Hot water in the winter and cold water in the summer—

        These are what I drink.

Fur in the winter and hemp in the summer—

        These are what I wear.

Clothing me and letting me drink

        Are all that I shall attend to.

The clear tranquility shall not

        Be turned into dim darkness.

 

               Note: The idea in the second line comes from the "Tang of Shang Asks" Chapter in the Liezi: "Wealth in the Nine Provinces comes from tilling the land or trading, from hunting or from fishing, just as we are clad in fur in the winter and in hemp in the summer; we ride on a boat on the water and a cart on the land."
