黃花深得主人情，

晋有陶潛楚屈平。

朝採東籬暮澤畔，

歲寒心事兩分明。

노란 국화꽃이 아껴주는 사람의

      깊은 마음을 얻었습니다

진나라에는 도연명이

      초나라에는 굴원이 있었지요

아침에는 동쪽 울타리에서 꺾고

      저녁에는 물가를 걸으시지요

세월이 싸늘하니 그대의 마음도 걱정도

      모두 명쾌합니다

Yellow chrysanthemums enjoy the earnest hearts

        Of those who appreciate them:

Tao Qian in Jin

        And Qu Yuan of Chu.

You pick in the morning the flowers by the east fence,

        And wander in the evening along the marsh, right?

Your heart and what it cares

        Are all lucid in this frigid time.

人情那似物無情，

觸境年來漸不平。

偶向東籬羞滿面，

真黃花對偽淵明。

"국화를 마주보며"

 

사람의 마음으로 어떻게

      무정한 물건을 닮나요

해가 갈수록 닥치는 형편이    

      점점 더 고르지 못합니다

어쩌다 동쪽 울타리를 향하는데

      얼굴이 부끄러움으로 가득합니다

진짜 국화를 마주하는 게

      가짜 도연명이네요

How could I, with the human heart,

        Resemble heartless things?

As years go by, I find myself

        In increasingly troubling circumstances.

I happen to head toward the east fences,

        And my face is filled with shame.

True chrysanthemums are looking at

        A false Tao Yuanming.
