〈寄君實〉

 

旅舘殘燈曉，孤城細雨秋。

思君意不盡，千里大江流。

 

       注：〈君實〉為何許人，尚待確認。朝鮮朝字君實者數人，但年代皆與詩人不相當。宋司馬光亦字君實，但史實與詩境能否證實隔世隔地之交，亦不易判斷。

"군실에게 보냅니다"

 

객사의 등불이 스러져가는 새벽

외딴 성은 부슬비 내리는 가을입니다

그대를 그리니 생각이 끊이지 않는데

큰 강물이 천리를 흐릅니다

 

     주: 시인이 이 시를 보낸 군실이 누구인지 확인하지 못했습니다. 조선조에 자가 군실인 문인이 몇 있지만 연대가 맞지 않습니다. 송나라의 사마광도 자가 군실이었지만, 역사적인 사실이나 이 시의 내용이 시공을 넘어서는 대화였음을 증명할 수 있는지 판단하기 어렵습니다.

"To Kun-shil"

 

At daybreak when the lamp light is dying out at a traveler's lodge,

An autumn drizzle falls on the isolated town.

Longing for you, my thoughts go on,

As the big river flows a thousand miles.

 

       Note: The recipient of this poem has yet to be identified. The style-name Kun-shil (君實) was used by a few writers in the Cho-sōn Dynasty, but they were not poet's contemporary.  Sima Guang (司馬光, 1019-1086) of Song, China was also style-named Junshi (君實), but  it is difficult to determine whether historical facts and the contents of the poem would support an interpretation of this poem as a dialogue across time and space.
