弓劍詩書屬一身，

聖朝公議重邊臣。

恠來左轄頻虛位，

塞外三年滯此人。

궁술과 검술, 시와 서예를

      한 몸에 지닌 통판을 보내는 걸 보면

어진 조정의 논의에서

      변방 신하의 직위가 중시되는 듯합니다

 

좌승의 자리가

      자주 빈다는 게 이상하긴 합니다

국경 밖에서 삼 년 임기가

      사람을 붙들어 매나 봅니다

Seeing the appointment of someone in whose body

        Lies archery, swordsmanship, poetry, and calligraphy,

I wonder if the deliberation in the sagely court

        Is now valuing those serving in border regions.

 

Uncanny is that the positions of vice minister

        Are often left unfilled.

The three-year term beyond the border region

        Maybe tying up this man out there.
