欣幸

櫻花像在等候著她似地

飄散花瓣迎接我母親

 

她不時訴說了去看河回村的意願

炎熱盛夏嘛

真好啊

坐輪椅在櫻花街上冒花瓣雪的母親

掛在眼角的心頭在懨懨微弱的身體裏碎瓷器片兒般閃光

她的氣息飛上去著落在古木古屋

 

撫弄一下兒門檻高的灶房裏大鐵鍋上沾著的夢

隨著牆下的新芽她搖蕩的心情也發出淺綠色

跟著我父親開始走的那遙遠的新婚之路

從八代單傳的丈夫來的情愛和在婆家做媳婦的懷恨

都化成蝴蝶從她的嘴唇飛走

 

扇股子般閃耀的陽光下

像河回戲的面具

我母親笑得很開心

 

        注：河回村位於韓國東南地區之安東，河水彎彎曲流之優美環境。因其傳統聚落，尤其是貴族（兩班）家屋建築，成為重要民俗文化遺產。河回別神祭假面舞，簡稱河回面具戲，展現貴族與平民之間之矛盾。

"Come, O Come, Spring"

 

To my relief,

Cherry flowers, as if they were waiting for my mother,

Sprinkle flower petals to welcome her.

 

My mother's been intoning her wishes to go see Hahoe Village.

In the heat of high summer?

In the depths of winter? How long have I found these excuses?

 

It is really good, my mother says.

In a wheelchair on a cherry-blossom street under flowers falling like snow,

Her heart hanging on the eye glistens like potsherds in her wearied body.

Her breaths fly up and land on old trees, and on old houses, too.

 

Having caressed the dreams smeared on iron cauldrons in the kitchen behind a high threshold,

Her palpitations bloom in soft green hue, following young sprouts under the fence.

The distant road of a newly-wed she started walking on with my father,

The love of her husband, the eighth-generation only son, and the bitterness of life in her in-law's home,

All transform into a butterfly, and fly up and away from her mouth.

 

Under the sunbeams spreading like the ribs of a fan,

She is smiling brightly,

Just like the masks in Hahoe dance-drama.

 

        Note: Hahoe Village, literally "the village by the meandering river," is located in Andong in the southeastern part of Korea.  In addition to the beautiful environment of a river meandering mountains, the traditional village, especially the residence of the noble class, make the place an important popular cultural heritage.  Hahoe mask dance-drama, originated from religious sacrificial ritual for gods, features humorous treatments of contradictions between the noble class and people.

다행이다

벚꽃은 그녀를 기다려 주기나 한 듯

꽃잎을 날리며 반긴다

 

하회 마을에 한번 가보고 싶구나 하시던 어머니

한여름이어서 안 되고

한겨울이어서 안 된다고 한 게 언제인지

 

참 좋구나

벚꽃 길 꽃눈 맞으며 휠체어에 앉은 그녀

눈에 매달린 마음이 지친 몸속에서 사금파리처럼 반짝거린다

고목에도 고가에도 그녀의 숨결이 날아가 앉는다

 

턱 높은 정지의 무쇠 솥에 묻은 꿈을 만지작거리고

담장 아래 새싹 따라 그녀의 설렘도 연둣빛으로 피어난다

아버지 따라 시작하던 아득한 신혼길

팔대 독자 남편의 사랑과 시집살이의 한

그녀의 입에서 나비가 되어 날아간다

 

부챗살처럼 퍼지는 햇살 아래

하회탈처럼

그녀가 환하게 웃고 있다
