紛紛輕薄不堪論，

世事將談却自吞。

交態由來隨貴賤，

翟公辛苦浪書門。

떠들썩하면서 경박한 것을

      차마 논의할 수 없어서

세상 일을 이야기 하려다

      스스로 삼키고 맙니다

사람들이 서로 오고 가는 게 원래

      신분의 높고 낮음을 따른다지만

적공이 맛본 맵고 쓰디쓴 맛이

      책 읽는 사람들의 세상에 출렁입니다

I cannot endure to discuss

        Frivolous views presented in confusion.

So, I gulp down the thought

        Of mentioning the affairs of the time.

The friendship in this world, they say,

        Reflects the social standings,

But the pungent bitterness that Master Zhai tasted

        Is gurgling through circles of book-readers.
