端陽季節好，萬物重新造。

只是不時追，靈均楚澤惱。

단오절은 참 좋은 계절입니다

만물이 새로이 만들어지지요

오로지 하나 초나라 못가 굴원의 고뇌를

시도 때도 없이 돌이키게 됩니다

"A Thought on the Fifth of the Fifth Moon"

 

The Fifth of the Fifth Moon is in a good season,

With the myriad things recreated afresh.

Only one thing, though, is that I am reminded

Every so often of Qu Yuan's agonies by the Chu marsh.

 

               Note: The fifth of the fifth lunar month is a festive day that commemorates Qu Yuan (c. 340-278 BCE). It is known in the west as Dragon Boat Day.
