大白天在暗間兒扎窩子寫詩

不覺竊聽門外廣播筒的聲音

雞蛋⋯（短暫沈默）

雞蛋一盤⋯（稍長沈默）

雞蛋一盤就一巴啊啊啊矮塊⋯（沈默）⋯雞蛋一盤

就這些而已

可是那空白之美非凡無比

說一次雞蛋

而後的沈默讓我這個聽者

抿起耳朵

接著說一次雞蛋一盤，然後再沈默

然後乾巴巴地來雞蛋一盤就一百塊

緊接著又是

雞蛋

聽著就覺得修煉內功實在不淺

拉起耳郭

那股呼喊聲，呼著喊著

上癮形成的生計韻律

一盤雞蛋的節奏

我放下正在寫的詩

咯噔，我手上拿著一百塊出門

"A Crate of Eggs"

 

In broad daylight, as I shut myself up in a back room and work on a poem,

I overhear the sound from a loudspeaker outside the gate.

Eggs… (a short silence)

A crate of eggs… (a longer silence)

A crate of eggs, just threeeee bucks… (silence)… a crate of eggs.

That's it, simple as that,

But the aesthetics of the blank margins is no joke.

Eggs, a whip of that sound

Followed by silence makes my ears cocked.

Then again, a crate of eggs, and silence,

And brusquely asserted, a crate of eggs just three bucks,

Which is followed almost simultaneously by, once more,

Eggs.

Listening to it, I find the cultivated inner strength formidable.

My ears have been pulled in.

That shriek, in a metric pattern of livelihood

Formed by its endless repetition,

A rhythm of a crate of eggs.

I lay down the poem I have been working on,

Pop, I stand up, three bucks crinkled in my hand, and go out.

대낮, 골방에 처박혀 시를 쓰다가

문 밖 확성기 소리를 엿듣는다

계란…(짧은 침묵)

계란 한 판…(긴 침묵)

계란 한 판이, 삼처너언계란…(침묵)…계란 한 판

이게 전부인데

여백의 미가 장난이 아니다

계란, 한 번 치고

침묵하는 동안 듣는 이에게

쫑긋, 귀를 세우게 한다

다시 계란 한 판, 또 침묵

아주 무뚝뚝하게 계란 한 판이 삼천 원

이라 말하자마자 동시에

계란, 하고 친다

듣고 있으니 내공이 만만치 않다

귀를 잡아당긴다

저 소리, 마르고 닳도록 외치다

인이 박여 생긴 생계의 운율

계란 한 판의 리듬

쓰던 시를 내려놓고

덜컥, 삼천원을 들고 나선다
