〈贐別宣水使居怡〉

 

北居同勤苦，南來共死生。

一杯今夜月，明日別離情。

 

               注：宣居怡（字思慎，怡仲，號親親齋，1545-1598），朝鮮中期武臣。

 

이순신 (자는 여해, 시호는 충무, 1545-1598)

 

"선거이 수군절도사께 선물을 드리며 작별합니다"

 

북쪽에 근무할 때는 같이 고통을 무릅쓰며 일하고,

남쪽으로 와서는 죽고 삶을 함께 했지요

지금 달밤에 마시는 이 한 잔으로

내일 헤어지는 마음을 달랩니다

 

           주: 선거이 (자는 사신, 이중, 호는 친친재, 1545-1598)는 조선 중기의 무신입니다.

"Bidding Farewell Giving Gifts to Navy Commissioner Sōn Kō-yi"

 

Serving in northern regions, we worked together through hard times.

Since we came to south, we shared life and death.

By this cup of wine in this moonlit night,

I wish to soothe the deep feelings of parting tomorrow.

 

               Note: Sōn Kō-yi (1545-1598) was a military figure in mid Cho-sōn period.
