〈錦江亭〉

 

錦江亭在府東數里，地迫臨江岸。端廟昇遐後，諸侍從者皆殉節，宮人輩亦於此地投江而死，後人遂名其地曰：落花巖。

 

東巡何日陟雲鄉，

九死甘心報聖王。

冤氣不隨流水盡，

貞魂長伴落花香。

行人到此猶抆涕，

故老相傳自斷腸。

江畔年年芳草路，

春山如黛月如霜。

"금강정"

 

금강정은 영월부의 동쪽 몇 리 거리에 있는데 지형이 강언덕을 바로 내려다 보고 있습니다. 단종께서 승하하신 후, 모시던 시종들은 모두 죽음으로 절의를 지켰고, 궁녀들도 역시 이곳에서 강에 몸을 던져 죽었습니다. 그래서 훗날 사람들은 이 곳을 꽃이 떨어진 바위 봉우리, 낙화암이라고 이름하였습니다.

 

동쪽으로의 행차가 어느 날

      구름의 고향 이 땅으로 올라오든지

아홉 번 죽더라도 달가운 마음으로

      거룩하신 임금님께 보답합니다

 

원통한 기운은 흐르는 물을

      따라 모두 없어지지 않고

곧은 혼백이 떨어진 꽃과

      오래 함께 향기를 피웁니다

 

지나는 사람들은 이 곳에 와서

      눈물을 훔치며

원로들이 전하는 이야기에

      스스로 창자가 끊기는듯 아파합니다

 

강가에는 해가 가고 또 가도

      향긋한 풀이 길을 만들어

봄 산에는 검푸른 눈썹 같고

      달빛은 서린 듯합니다

"The Brocade River Pavilion"

 

The Brocade River Pavilion is a few li east of Yōng-wōl Prefecture. The topography of the place is such that it closely faces the river shore.  After King Dan-jong passed away, the servants sacrificed themselves for their loyalty. Palace ladies also threw themselves off from this place to death.  Thus, this place was named by later people as the "Falling Flowers Rock."

 

Whenever the eastward trip of the king

        Climbed up to this home of clouds,

The willingness to die nine deaths,

        Would repay His Holiness, the Sage King.

 

The bitterness did not follow

        The flowing water to depletion;

The loyal soul has long accompanied

        The fallen flowers to emit the scent.

 

Passers-by come here

        And wipe their wet eyes;

Elders transmit the stories

        Wrenching their hearts.

 

Fragrant plants grace the paths

        Along the riverside year after year,

Spring mountains are like dark-green eyebrows

        And moonlight looks like frost.
