〈滿月臺〉

 

下馬披荊棘，高臺四望虛。

雲山孤鳥外，民物故都餘。

危砌依林廢，喬松落影疎。

斜陽三角照，指點是王居。

 

  注：七句《栗谷全書》卷二作「斜陽照三角」，平仄不協。疑為傳寫之訛。

"만월대"

 

말에서 내려 가시덤불을 헤치며 다다른

쌓아 올린 누대터에서는 사방 어디를 보아도 텅 비었습니다

 

구름 덮인 산 외로운 새 한 마리 넘어

사람들의 삶이 옛 도읍지에 남았습니다

 

높은 섬돌들 쓰러져 수풀에 기대고

키 큰 소나무는 내려 비친 그림자가 희미합니다

 

기우는 해가 삼각산을 비추어

그곳이 임금이 머무시던 곳이라 가리킵니다

"The Full Moon Palace"

 

Having dismounted a horse, I wade through thorny brambles,

And reach the elevated terrace to find all four directions empty.

 

Beyond the clouded mountains and a lone bird

Is the seat of an old kingdom, where the lives of people remain.

 

High stepping stones are in disarray, leaning on the woods;

Tall pine trees are thin in the shadows they cast.

 

The slanting sun shines on the Triangle Mountain,

Pointing at the monarchal residence of the past.
