縣齋消寂·其二

 

世情人事兩茫然，哀樂何妨置一邊。

春去黃鸝聲已澁，秋來綠竹節尤堅。

尖纖病骨寒生粟，零落歸魂日抵年。

只是青山長不厭，相看如畫在簾前。

"현청 서재에서 외로움을 떨어냅니다" 둘째 시

 

세상의 사정이나 사람의 일이나

         둘 모두 막막합니다

슬픔도 기쁨도 한 편에 놓아둔들

         무슨 문제가 있겠습니까

 

봄이 가면 노랑 꾀꼬리

         울음소리가 떨떠름하고;

가을이 오면 푸른 대나무

         마디가 더욱 든든합니다

 

가녀린 병든 몸

         추위에 소름이 돋고;

시들어 꺼져가는 영혼

         하루를 한 해처럼 지냅니다

 

오로지 푸른 산만

         오래 보아도 싫증나지 않아

바라보면 주렴 앞에

         걸린 그림 같습니다

"Dispelling Loneliness in the Study in Prefecture Office": Second Poem

 

Affairs of the world and ways of human beings,

            Are both faint and hopeless.

Why would it matter

            If sorrows and pleasures are put aside?

 

When spring goes away,

            The voice of golden orioles turns tart;

As autumn comes,

            Joints of green bamboos get stronger.

 

Thin and frail, my sick body

            Easily gets gooseflesh;

Forlorn and dispersing, the returning soul

            Takes a day as a year.

 

Only the green mountain

            Does not bore me for a long time—

It looks as though it is a painting

            Hanging by the bead-curtain.
