呼喚自家成員的小鳥

那些鳥喙把樹林舉起來

我拼湊筆畫

 

僅在心裏呼喚的

去哪兒當什麼呢

原來想說的是逍遙

可是來到的是心憂

 

鷸呀箆鷺呀

那些鳥都離去的水邊

我呼叫

對著黑水的陰暗

呼叫名字

 

被像石頭般飛來的

我自己的名字打到

我就爬著去，好吧，我去

我問

我不能問

 

蹲下來

捂臉的人啊

過去的季節裏細細鳴叫的

草蟲都去哪兒了

蜘蛛網上閃亮的水珠呢

"The Rollcall in the Evening"

 

Birds that call members of their family,

Their beaks lift the woods.

 

The humming that floats about in the evening glow:

You've come back!

A breath that comes and touches the back of my neck—

When I turn around to see,

But you're not there, again,

And just like someone who flops down and collects bones,

I pick up brush strokes.

 

Going where for becoming what,

Are those calling only inwardly.

 

Your name strains my heart more and more.

 

I meant to say "picnic,"

But "pain" has already come.

 

On the shore where birds,

Like longbills and spoonbills, have left,

I call out.

To the darkness of the dusky water,

I call out the name.

 

Getting hit by my own name,

Flying in like a pebble,

I crawl on. Alright, I crawl on.

I ask.

I cannot ask.

 

You who squat down

And facepalm, let me ask,

The insects, chirping feebly in the last season—

Where have all those gone?

How about the beads of water on the cobweb?

What about the faces reflected on those beads?

 

When the sun sets again into the sea

And it is the evening time,

I call out the name.

제 식구를 부르는 새들

부리가 숲을 들어올린다

 

저녁 빛 속을 떠도는 허밍

다녀왔니

뒷목에 와 닿는 숨결

돌아보면

다시 너는 없고

주저앉아 뼈를 추리는 사람처럼

나는 획을 모은다

 

어디로 가는가 무엇이 되는가

속으로만 부리는 것들은

 

네 이름이 내 심장을 죄어온다

 

소풍이라 말하려 했는데

슬픔이 와 있다

 

도요라든가 저어라든가

새들도 떠난 물가에서

나는 부른다

검은 물 어둠에다 대고

이름을 부른다

 

돌멩이처럼 날아오는

내 이름을 내가 맞고서

엎드려 간다 가마

묻는다

묻지 못한다

 

쭈그리고 앉아

마른 세수를 하는 사람아

지난 계절 조그맣게 울던

풀벌레들은 어디로 갔는가

거미줄에 빛나던 물방울들

물방울에 맺혔던 얼굴들은

 

바다는 다시 저물어

저녁에는
