十五越溪女，羞人無語別。

歸來掩重門，泣向梨花月。

"말도 못한 이별"

 

열 다섯에 시내 건너에서 온 여인

수줍어 말도 못하고 작별했지요

시집와 겹겹이 잠긴 문 안에서

배꽃 뒤에 걸린 달을 향해 흐느낍니다.

 

      주: 제목을 "여인의 원망 閨怨"이라고 한 판본도 있습니다.

A woman from across the stream at the age of fifteen,

Too shy to have said anything at parting,

Is behind layers of closed gates since marriage,

Sobbing at the moon behind the pear flowers.
