〈冬夜偶吟〉

 

長夜苦漫漫，天地何遲曉。

羣鼠亂牀邊，宿客夢自少。

 

               注：《東國風雅》題作〈夜坐〉，首句作〈冬夜苦漫漫〉。

"겨울 밤에 우연히 읊습니다"

 

긴긴 이 밤 고통스럽도록 끝이 없습니다

이 하늘 이 땅에 새벽은 왜 이리 더디 오나요

쥐들 무리가 침대 주변을 어지럽히니

묵어가는 길손의 꿈은 말할 것도 없이 줄어듭니다

 

           주: 《동국풍아東國風雅》에는 제목이 "밤에 일어나 앉아"로, 첫 구절은 "이 겨울 밤은 고통스럽게 길고 깁니다"로 수록되어 있습니다.

"Chanting by Chance at Winter Night"

 

This long night is dragging on, painfully and endlessly.

Why is the daybreak so slow to come to this heaven and earth?

A nest of rats disturbs the bedsides,

Reducing, obviously, the wayfarer's dream.

 

               Note: The title is "Sitting Up at Night," and the first line, "This winter night is dragging on painfully," in the Tong-guk p'ung-a.
