〈松京覽古〉四首之二

 

平臺黃日半頹傾，

古國秋風客意驚。

最是竹橋南畔水，

至今嗚咽送寒聲。

 

               注：三句竹橋猶為善竹橋，是高麗忠臣鄭夢周（字達可，號圃隱，1337-1392）被刺殺之處。

 

신정 (자는 인백, 호는 분애, 1628-1687)

 

"소나무 도읍지 지난 날을 읽습니다" 네 수의 둘째

 

평평한 누대에 비치는 누런 해가

      이미 반쯤 기울었는데

옛 나라의 가을 바람이

      이 나그네의 마음을 놀라게 합니다

그 중 제일은 선죽교

      남쪽 가장자리의 물

지금까지도 흐느끼며

      차디찬 소리를 보내옵니다

 

           주: 세째 행의 죽교는 정몽주鄭夢周가 이방원李芳遠이 보낸 자객에 의해 암살된 선죽교善竹橋로 보입니다.

"Reading Bygone at the Pine Capital" Second of Four

 

An amber sun shining on the level platform

        Is already slanting half way down.

The autumn wind of the old kingdom

        Startles this traveler.

The most of all is the bridge by the bamboo trees

        And the water on the south shore,

Sobbing even till now

        And sending the chill sound.

 

               Note: The bridge in the third line seems the Good Bamboo Bridge (Sōn-juk-kyo), renamed as such after Chōng Mong-ju (1337-1392), a minister loyal to Ko-ryō, was killed by assassins sent by Yi Pang-won (1367-1422), who later became the third king of Cho-sōn.
