〈小亭獨坐〉

 

林亭隨處輒怡神，

獨坐悠然霽景新。

曾謂深山將隔世，

誰知流水更忙人。

心期邱壑應無媿，

契濶雲烟自不貧，

仁壽幾年空仰止。

還從此日託芳隣。

"조그만 정자에 홀로 앉아"

 

숲 속 정자는 그 어디도

      정신을 유쾌하게 합니다

편안하게 홀로 앉으니

      비 갠 경치가 싱그럽습니다

 

깊은 산이 세상을

      벗어나게 할 것이라 말하기도 했지만

흐르는 물이 사람을

      더욱 바쁘게 할 걸 누가 알까요

 

먼 산 깊은 골짜기를 마음으로 그리워 하는 건

      분명 부끄러울 게 없지요

구름안개가 모이고 흩어지는 건

      그 자체로 넉넉합니다

 

인자롭게 몇 년을 더 살고 싶다고

      하릴없이 바라니

오늘 이 날부터는

      좋은 이웃에 기대려고 합니다

"Sitting Along in a Small Pavilion"

 

Anywhere around this pavilion in the woods

        Soothes my soul.

Sitting alone leisurely and carefree,

        The scene as the rain subsides is refreshing.

 

I have said before that deep the mountain

        Could seclude me from the world;

Who would know that flowing water

        Would bring more toils to us.

 

There must be no reason to be sheepish about

        Longing for distant mountains and deep valleys;

Plentiful by themselves

        Are gathering and scattering of cloud and mist.

 

Wishing in vain

        A few more years of virtuous life,

I shall, from this day on,

        Entrust myself to good neighbors.
