〈聽琴〉

 

纖纖玉手動哀絃，

遠客傷心淚自懸。

最是曲終無恨意，

半簾殘月小樓邊。

 

신정 (자는 인백, 호는 분애, 1628-1687)

 

"가야금 소리를 듣습니다"

 

가녀린 흰 손이

      슬픈 현을 움직이니

멀리서 온 나그네 마음이 아파

      눈물이 달렸습니다

곡이 끝났을 때 원망스런 마음이

      없었음이 가장 탁월합니다

주렴 중간에 달이 아직 남아

      작은 누각 곁을 서성이네요

The slender white hands

        Moves the sorrowful strings,

And teardrops hang in the eyes

        Of this traveler from afar.

The most notable of all is that there is

        No resenting heart when the music is done.

In the middle of the curtain is a lingering moon

        Sauntering around the little pavilion.
