박장원,"귀양가는 친구를 보내며 送謫客"

朴長遠（字仲久，號久堂，又號濕川，1612-1671）

 

〈送謫客〉

 

先後生同壬子年，

去留情事此離筵。

天無竟日雷霆怒，

莫恨潮陽路八千。

 

               注：《久堂先生集》注明，為詩為癸亥年之作，疑誤，該年詩人僅十一歲。尾句用韓愈〈左遷至藍關示侄孫湘〉首聯：「一封朝奏九重天，夕貶潮州路八千。」

"귀양가는 친구를 보내며"

 

임자년 같은 해에

      앞서거니 뒤서거니 태어난 우리

떠나고 남는 마음이

      이 이별연회입니다

하루 종일 하늘에는

      성난 우레도 벼락도 없지만

조양으로 가는 팔천 리 길을

      너무 씁쓸하게 한탄하지 마시기를

 

           주: 시인의 문집 《구당선생집》은 계해년(1623)의 작품이라고 밝히고 있지만, 착오로 의심됩니다. 그 해 시인은 11세의 어린아이였습니다. 마지막 행은 한유의 칠언율시 "좌천되어 남관에 이르렀을 때 지어 종손인 한상에게 보여준다"의 다음과 같은 첫 연을 사용합니다: 「아침에 구중궁궐의 임금님께 주청 한 통을 올리고, 저녁에 조주까지 팔천 리 귀양길을 간다.」

"Seeing Off a Banished Friend"

 

The two of us born earlier

        And later of the same year of 1612,

Are here to part with each other,

        With the heavy hearts of leaving and staying.

All day long in the sky,

        There haven't even been any angry thunder and lightning,

But pray not to be too bitter

        About the eight-thousand-mile road to Chaoyang.

 

               Note: The poet's anthology notes that this poem was written in 1623, but that seems to be an error.  The poet was only 11 in that year. The last line uses a beginning couplet in Han Yu, "Written as I Reach the Lan'guan Pass on My Banishment. I Show This to My Grandnephew, Han Xiang": "I submitted a petition in the morning to His Majesty in the nine-layered palace, and banished in the evening, I am on the eight-thousand-mile road to Chaozhou."
