母親破曉就履霜

去擺攤兒

淋著濕乎乎的夜露

回到我們枕邊了。

 

擱板上的蜜罈子不但空著沒蜜

還灰濛濛積塵，

借錢也還不清的，污垢般的小孩子家

在屋裏睡著覺隨便打滾

 

沒人看的

誰也不相認的

戴在前額回來的

星光擺出來

沾在袖子回來的

月光也抖下來

My mother treaded on frosted paths at dawn

To go to set up a vendor's stand,

And came back, soaked in the night dew,

To the side of our pillows.

 

The honey jar on the shelf was not just empty,

But has been collecting dust,

The filthy little ones, who could not be paid back even with a loan,

Fill the room, sleeping, rolling and sprawling out,

 

No one sees,

No one recognizes,

But she unloads the starlight

Carried back on her forehead,

And shakes off the moonlight

Smeared on the sleeves.

"어떤 귀로"

 

새벽 서릿길을 밟으며

어머니는 장사를 나가셨다가

촉촉한 밤이슬에 젖으며

우리들 머리맡으로 돌아오셨다.

 

선반에 꿀단지가 채워져 있기는커녕

먼지만 부옇게 쌓여 있는데,

빚으로도 못 갚는 땟국물 같은 어린 것들이

방 안에 제멋대로 뒹굴어져 자는데,

 

보는 이 없는 것,

알아주는 이 없는 것,

이마 위에 이고 온

별빛을 풀어 놓는다.

소매에 묻히고 온

달빛을 털어 놓는다.
