姜栢年（字叔久，號雪峯，又號閒溪、清月軒，諡號文貞，1603-1681）

 

〈至日豆粥〉

 

旅食經年且未還，

寒菹苦菜齒生酸。

嘗新此日逢春色，

隨俗千家有節餐。

夜聽蒼蠅鳴石鼎，

曉將丹液薦山盤。

箇中眞味無人會，

何似簞瓢陋巷顏。

 

강백년 (자는 숙구, 호는 설봉, 한계, 청월헌, 시호는 문정, 1603-1681)

객지에서의 음식 벌써 몇 년인데

      아직도 돌아가지를 못하고

차디찬 절인 채소 씁쓸한 나물에

      이가 시려 옵니다

 

바로 이날 새것을 맛보면

      봄 풍경을 맞이한다 하는데

모든 집이 습속을 따르는

      명절 음식이 있습니다

 

밤 사이 파리 윙윙거리는 듯한 소리

      돌 가마솥을 울리고

새벽이 되어 주홍 불로약이

      산 기슭에 바쳐지지요

 

그 속의 진정한 맛은

      아무도 모르지만

어떻게 허름한 골목길 대나무 그릇과

      표주박에 담긴 음식 같겠습니까

"Red Bean Porridge on Winter Solstice"

 

Many years of eating unfamiliar food away from home,

        Without being able to return,

Salted cold vegetables and bitter potherbs

        Make my teeth chilled.

 

Tasting something new on this day

        Brings vernal scenes;

Following the customs of a thousand households,

        Is to eat a festive meal.

 

At night I hear the sound like buzzing flies

        Ringing the stone cauldron;

In early morning the brewed red elixir

        Is presented to the foot of the hills.

 

No one understands

        The real flavors in it,

But how can it be like the coarse food

        In a bamboo bowl and gourd ladle in a back alley?
