강백년,"이백과 두보를 읽으며 讀李杜"

姜栢年（字叔久，號雪峯，又號閒溪、清月軒，諡號文貞，1603-1681）

 

〈讀李杜〉

 

黃間筆力有誰強，

李杜當年獨擅場。

短律長詩留膾炙，

晝思宵夢摠微茫。

千秋赫焰連天爇，

萬丈晴虹接海長。

病客向來詩思渴，

一篇纔誦氣揚揚。

 

강백년 (자는 숙구, 호는 설봉, 한계, 청월헌, 시호는 문정, 1603-1681)

 

"이백과 두보를 읽으며"

 

어떤 사람들 붓의 힘이

      황금 화살처럼 강했을까요

이백과 두보가 그 시대에

      전체를 압도했지요

 

짧은 율시부터 긴 노래까지

      입에 오르내리도록 남겼고

낮에 하는 생각과 밤에 꾸는 꿈을

      어슴푸레한 곳까지 잡아냈습니다

 

천 번의 가을 동안 빛나는 불꽃이

      하늘까지 퍼지며 타오르고

만 장 높이 맑은 무지개로

      바다로 이어지며 펼쳐집니다

 

병든 나그네는 줄곧

      시상마저 메마르는데

한 수 읽었는데 벌써

      기운이 힘차게 솟구칩니다

"Reading Li Bai and Du Fu"

 

Who had the power of the brush

        Strong as golden arrows?

Li Bai and Du Fu were absolutely

        Dominant in their times.

 

From short regulated verse to long songs,

        They left on everyone's lips to savor;

Thoughts in the daytime and dreams at night,

        They grabbed even to the dim and the hazy.

 

The brilliant flames for a thousand autumns

        Have been burning up to the sky;

The translucent rainbows, ten-thousand arm-spans high,

        Unfold into the sea.

 

This sick sojourner has long been

        Suffering from the shortage of poetic ideas,

But having read just one poem,

        My energy surges up high.
