〈木板門廊〉

 

珍惜像精實稻穀般傾盆而下的陽光光芒

加了一道木板門廊了

是請個熟練靈巧的木匠架構起來的

以我短小的步伐來量，略有六七步寬度

我家本是陽光好的向南家屋

切些瓜片曬起來，也很快就會乾好

秋天到，要去每五日一次的集市

買來一百個柿子，削去皮，

編綴起來要掛在門廊上

就像在歲月裏消瘦下去的我這張臉

柿子也皺皺巴巴乾下去，開始嫌厭自己的模樣，

噴出了白色粉末，秋天就差不多過去，

冬季已經到門檻了吧

那麼，把陽光在整秋給我作好的柿乾一個個拿出來吃著

聽聽你會給我說的狐狸精出演的故事

都不察覺門外神不知鬼不覺地下著雪

我要沈浸在冬季夜晚了

"A Wooden Balcony"

 

Cherishing so much the sunbeams pouring down like husked grains,

I had a wooden balcony installed.

I hired an old carpenter with deft skills, and he built it for me.

Measuring with my tiny little strides, it is about six or seven paces wide.

It is a south-facing house, which comes with sunshine all day long,

And sliced pumpkins spread out in the sun get dried so well.

When autumn comes, I shall go to the every-fifth-day market,

Buy a hundred persimmons, peel them,

Weave them together, and hang them over the balcony.

Just like my face, getting scrawnier in the passage of time,

The persimmons would get crumpled, end up detesting their own look,

And spurt out white powder. Autumn then would be all over,

And winter would have arrived at the doorsteps.

Then, from the dried persimmons that sunshine prepared all through autumn,

I wish to pull out and munch them one by one, and listen to your story starring a fox,

Being oblivious of the snow outside falling surreptitiously,

And remain steeped in the winter night.

"쪽마루"

 

알곡처럼 쏟아지는 햇살이 아까워

쪽마루 한 칸 들였습니다

솜씨 좋은 늙은 목수의 손을 빌려 짜 넣은 것인데

좁은 내 보폭으로 예닐곱 걸음됩니다

온종일 볕이 따라오는 남향집이라

호박고지를 만들어 널어도 잘 마릅니다

가을이 오면 오일장에 나가

감을 한 접 사다 깎아

마루 위에 엮어둘까 싶습니다

세월속에 말라가는 내 얼굴처럼

감이 조글조글 말라가다 제  모습이 보기 싫어

하얗게 분을 내뿜으면 가을은 이미 지나고

겨울이 문턱에 와 있겠지요

그럼, 가으내 햇살이 말려 준 곶감을 빼먹으며

당신이 들려주는 여우 나오는 옛날 이야기로

문밖에 도둑눈이 내리는 것도 모르고

겨울밤에 빠져 있고 싶습니다
