〈有關李仲燮的想法II〉

 

有了手掌大小的空間就

何時

何地

都能寫的詩

他羨慕詩人

畫畫如詩了

 

暫時放下了寡酒杯

髒兮兮的地板

沒有廣告的書封面

試卷紙的空白

看來都像漂亮的女孩

因而有輕易越過的

線條

有直直塗擦的

色彩

 

沒交盡的情

畫在信片

又畫在錫紙來

將歡喜代替痛苦的

一個男子

 

順手順腳地走

在稱做詩的泥坑

忘卻了口渴

摒棄了飢餓

 

               注:李仲燮(1916-1956),韓國著名現代畫家。油畫為主,但窮困無法購買畫紙時不拘紙質,畫在香菸內包的錫紙上畫的作品也相當出色。

" Thoughts on Yi Chung-sōp"

 

Poetry that can be written

Anytime

Anywhere

As long as there's a palm-size space—

He was envious of poets

And did his paintings as poems.

 

Pausing doing shots for a moment,

He'd find soiled flooring,

A book-cover without advertisement,

Or a blank space on a scratch paper,

As adorable as a little girl,

And make lines

That cross without ado,

And colors

Smudged straight up freely.

 

A man,

Having never fulfilled his love,

Painted on postcards

And again on tin foils

To replace pain with joy.

 

He is wading easily

Through a swamp called poetry,

Being oblivious of thirst,

Disregarding hunger.

 

               Note: Yi Chung-sōp (1916-1956) was a renowned modern painter in Korea.  Oil painting was his major expertise, but when the poverty made it hard to purchase canvas or paper, he painted on wide range of materials. Paintings on the tin foil inside wrapper in cigarette boxes are well known.

손바닥만한 空間만 있으면

언제

어느 때

어느 곳에서나

쓸 수 있는 詩

그는 詩人이 부러워

詩처럼 그림을 그렸다

 

깡술 들이키다 말고

땟국 낀 장판이나

광고 없는 책 표지나

시험지 여백 같은 게

모두 예쁜 계집만 같아

호락호락 넘어선

線과

직직 문질러 댄

 

다하지 못한 情을

葉書에다 그리고

은박지에 또 그려서

고통을 환희로 바꿔친

한 사내가

 

거뜬히 詩의 수렁 속을

가고 있다

갈증도 모르고

허기도 저버린 채
