〈驟雨旋止，憫坐拈韻〉

 

暘雨朝來在轉頭，

黝然庭宇忽深幽。

山光水色皆新得，

萬壑千峰想急流。

竟日不休猶未足，

薄雲將散耐暫留。

希文憂樂先存念，

閒漫溪亭訪瀑遊。

 

               注：七句〈希文〉，即范仲淹（字希文，989-1052），用〈岳陽樓記〉：「先天下之憂而憂，後天下之樂而樂」之意。

"소나기가 내리다 그치다 하여 시름하며 시 지을 운자를 고릅니다"

 

아침 내내 비가 오다가 그치고

      그친 비 다시 오기를 거듭하더니

어둑어둑하던 뜨락과 집안이

      갑자기 캄캄했습니다

 

산 빛과 물 색이

      이제 모두 새로워져

만 계곡 천 봉우리 사이로

      급히 흐르려 합니다

 

종일 쉬지 않아도

      흡족하지 않은 듯합니다

엷은 구름 결국 흩어지겠지만

      잠시 더 머물 수 있는지

 

근심과 기쁨에 대한 범중엄의 생각을

      먼저 마음에 담고

한가로이 시냇가 정자로 걷고

      폭포에 들러 노닙니다

 

           주: 일곱째 행의 희문은 송나라 범중엄(范仲淹, 자는 희문, 989-1052)입니다. 그는 "악양루기"에서 "천하가 걱정하기에 앞서 먼저 걱정하고, 천하가 즐거워한 후에 즐거워한다"고 말했습니다.

"A Sudden Shower Ceased Again, and I Choose a Rhyming to Compose a Poem."

 

All through the morning,

        Rain and shine alternated,

And the dim light in the courtyard and the house

        Suddenly turned dark.

 

Completely refreshed are

        The light in the mountains and the colors of the water,

Wanting to flow swiftly

        Through ten-thousand valleys and a thousand peaks.

 

Having run a whole day without rest,

        Yet remaining not fully satisfied;

Thin clouds are about to disperse,

        But I wonder if they could hang around a bit longer.

 

The thoughts of Fan Zhongyan on worries and pleasures

        Are kept in my mind as the first and the foremost,

And I saunter to the pavilion by the brook

        And to a cascade for a leisurely visit.

 

               Note: The seventh line alludes to the phrase, "Worries I shall have before the world does; Pleasures I shall take only after the world does," which Fan Zhongyan (989-1052) said in his "Writing Yueyang Pavilion."
