김정희,"산을 보며 看山"

金正喜（字元春，號秋史，1786-1856）

 

〈看山〉

 

山與大癡寫意同，

匡廬詩偈杳難窮。

都無冬夏靑蒼氣，

陡壑脩林一樣紅。

 

               注：首句用元·黃公望（字子久，號大癡，1269-1354），擅長山水，著有《山水訣》。二句匡廬即廬山，匡廬詩偈是讚頌廬山經典之作，最愛頌之作包括蘇軾〈題西林壁〉：「橫看成嶺側成峰，遠近高低各不同。不識廬山真面目，只緣身在此山中。」

"산을 보며"

 

산은 대치 황공망이

      그려낸 뜻과 같은데

여산의 노래시는

      깊어서 끝까지 알기 어렵습니다

어디에도 겨울과 여름의

      짙은 푸른 색의 기운은 없고

험한 계곡과 키 큰 나무숲이

      온통 붉은 색입니다

 

           주: 첫 구절의 대치는 원나라의 화가 황공망(1269-1354)의 아호입니다. 산수화에 능했고, 《산수결山水訣》이라는 저서가 있습니다. 둘째 구절은 중국 강서성에 있는 여산을 노래한 뛰어난 시들을 이야기합니다. 그 중 잘 알려진 작품에 소동파의 "서림사 벽에 씀"이 있습니다. "건너편에선 고갯마루인데 옆에서는 봉우리/ 멀고 가깝고 높고 낮은 것이 각각 다르네./ 노산의 진정한 모습은 알지 못하고/ 몸이 이 산 속에 있다는 인연뿐이네."

"Looking at the Mountains"

 

The mountains are congruous with the meaning

        Of the brushwork by Huang Gongwang,

But the songs of Mt. Lu

        Are too deep to fathom to the end.

The power of blues and greens of winter and summer

        Are nowhere to be found,

With the steep valleys and tall woods

        All red everywhere.

 

               Note: Huang Gongwang (1269-1354), a Yuan Dynasty painter, is referred to in the first line by his sobriquet, "Great Foolishness." He is known for his landscape painting, and has a book titled, The Secrets of Mountains and Rivers.  Line #2 refers to poems of classic status on Mt. Lu in the Jiangxi Province, China. A poem by Su Shi (1037-1101), "Inscribed on the Wall at West Wood Monastery," is well known: "From across, they are mountain ranges, and from the side, peaks. Far and near, high and low, they are all different. I do not know the true colors of Mt. Lu, and only cherish the affinity of this body being in the mountain."
