〈春日〉

 

翰墨情緣重，彌深竹柏眞。

梅花銅坑雪，杯酒玉山春。

明月千金夜，靑眸萬里人。

篆烟曾結就，槎屐不迷津。

"봄날"

 

글과 글씨는 마음과 인연이 소중합니다

깊으면 대나무와 전나무처럼 참되지요

 

매화 꽃잎은 구리광산에 내리는 눈이라지요

술 한 잔이면 옥산에 봄이 옵니다

 

밝은 달이 천금 같은 밤

푸른 눈동자가 만 리 밖 이 사람을 보고 있겠지요

 

향 연기가 전서 글씨처럼 얽히기도 했지만

뗏목 같은 나막신을 신어 나루터를 잃지 않을 겁니다

 

           주: 세째 행의 구리광산은 중국 소주의 등위산에 있는 광산을 이야기합니다. 그 곳은 매화가 많이 피어 꽃잎이 떨어지는 모습이 눈이 내리는 듯하다고 합니다.

"A Day in Springtime"

 

Writing and brushwork prize highly the heart and the affinity,

The depth shows the truthfulness of bamboos and firs.

 

Plum flower petals are snowflakes at the copper mine;

With a cup of wine, springtime comes to the jade mountain.

 

The bright moon is worth a thousand piece of gold tonight;

The blue eyes must be watching me ten-thousand miles away.

 

The incense smoke could curl like seal script,

But wearing clogs like a raft, I won't lose my way to the ford.

 

               Note: The copper mine in the third line seems to refer to the one in Dengwei Mountain in Suzhou, China. The area is also known for plum blossoms, and falling petals often resemble snowflakes in the winter.
