〈又一顆星星〉

 

我

在二道白河邊的茶館

喝杯香片茶的時間裏

有一顆星星到茶杯裏來了

冷嗎？

不回答呀

零下二十度的暴風雪

稱做星星的傢伙

是冷了才散發更多光亮的

從惠山鎮前往琿春的宵程中

看到了一個賣瓦斯燈的店鋪

我遲疑地想過要不要買一盞紫色的

另一顆星星又到茶杯裏來了

明白了任何黑暗裏也發光

是星星的宿命的

二十歲以後

我養成了

對我自己的心靜靜承諾

在任何孤獨裏

也能孤單單孤獨的習慣了

 

               注：二道白河是中國東北松花江之支流，發源於中朝邊界向東流。流速快險灘多，因而稱做白河。

"Yet Another Star"

 

While I

Was drinking a cup of jasmine tea

At a tea house by the Second-Tributary White River,

A star came into my tea cup.

Cold?

I see, you're not answering.

A snowstorm of twenty degrees below freezing point.

The fellows called stars

Are supposed to shed more light when it is cold.

On the road at night from Hye-san-jin village to Hunchun

I saw a shop that was selling gas lamps，

And I dithered if I should get a purple-colored one.

Yet another star came into the tea cup.

Since I turned twenty

When I realized that stars were destined

To shed light in any kind of darkness,

I developed a habit of pledging

Quietly to my heart

That I could get lonely all by myself

In any type of loneliness.

 

               Note: The river, "Yi-do Paek-ha/Erdao Baihe," translated here as "Second Tributary White River," is a tributary of Songhua River, flowing eastward from Korea-China borders. It is named white because of the swiftness of the currents and many rapids.

내가

이도백하의 다관茶館에서

재스민차 한잔을 마시는 동안

별 하나가 찻잔 안으로 들어왔다

추우냐?

답이 없구나

영하 이십도의 눈보라

별이란 족속은

추워야 더 빛을 뿌리는 법

혜산진에서 훈춘으로 가는 밤길에

와사등을 파는 가게가 하나 있었다

보라색 등 하나를 살까 망설였는데

또 하나의 별이 찻잔 안으로 들어왔다

어떤 어둠 속에서도 빛을 뿌리는 것이

별의 숙명이라는 것을 안

스무살 뒤로

나는 내 마음에게

어떤 외로움 속에서도

홀로 외로워질 수 있다고

고요히 다짐하는 버릇이 생겼다

 

           주: 이도백하는 송화강의 지류로 백두산에서 발원하여 동쪽으로 흐릅니다. 백하라고 불리는 것은 물의 흐름이 빠르고 여울이 많은 때문이라 합니다.
