讀了一頁就洗洗碗把它倒扣

 

讀了一頁就拿秫葉掃帚掃掃房間

 

讀了一頁就把洗了曬乾的衣服收回來摺疊

 

讀了一頁就燒茶水

 

又回來讀一頁

 

等茶沖泡的時間裏感到迷糊就迷路

 

行間寬，章節深，留白寂靜的

長得不怎麼樣的情人置於遠處

 

偶爾聽聽風傳來的消息，那樣活著也許也行吧

Having read a page, I go do the dishes.

 

Having read a page, I sweep the room with a sorghum leaf broom.

 

Having read a page, I fold the clothes, washed and dried.

 

Having read a page, I boil water for tea,

 

And, again, I come back to read a page.

 

While I wait for the tea to brew, I faint and get lost.

 

Putting at a distance a plain looking lover,

With the spacing between lines wide, the stanzas deep, and the empty space tranquil,

 

And hearing just now and then the tidings the wind relays, living like that might be okay.

한 장 읽고 걷어온 마른 빨래를 개키고

 

한 장 읽고 찻물을 올리고

 

다시, 돌아와 한 장 읽고는

 

차가 우려지는 동안 아득해져 길을 잃는다

 

행간이 넓고, 연이 깊고, 여백이 고요한

못생긴 애인 하나 멀리 두고

 

바람이 전해주는 소식 가끔 들으며 살아도 좋겠다
