〈龍湖〉

 

古木寒雲裏，秋山白雨邊。

暮江風浪起，漁子急回船。

 

       注：《東國風雅》本，題為〈題畫〉，首句作：「古木黃雲裏」。

"용호"

 

늙은 나무들 싸늘한 구름 속으로 솟았고

가을 산은 쏟아지는 비 언저리에 있습니다

저녁 무렵의 강, 바람 불어 물결이 이니

어부가 서둘러 뱃머리를 돌립니다

 

     주: 《동국풍아》에는 제목을 "그림에 부친다題畫"로 한 화제시로, 첫 행의 "싸늘한 구름"은 "누런 구름黃雲"으로 수록되어 있습니다. "누런 구름"은 곡식이 익어가는 가을 들녘의 비유적 표현일 수도 있습니다.

"Dragon Lake"

 

Old trees merge with chill clouds;

The autumn mountains lie by the pouring rain.

Waves rise in the wind on the evening river,

And the fisherman scurries to turn around the boat.

 

               Note: This poem is included in the Poetry of Eastern Kingdom with a title, "Inscribed on a Painting," and "chill cloud" in the first line as "yellow clouds," which could be a figure for the autumn fields of ripening amber grain.
