秋進入頭腦

落葉落到一絲絲的思緒

就在畫岩泉喝一勺水

去看一下沒雲臺吧

層層疊起的峭壁邊

比眼淚還青的溪水曲曲折折流去

時而在轉彎處虛謬地垮下來的

一生作成堆的石頭打滾的地方

身軀也遺棄心頭也遺棄後

站在落雷落到的松樹前

雲彩就會降到前額

是的，是的，給你微笑的地方

日子不容易過

再也沒有可去處

就把末班車也送去，搖搖擺擺地走

去一下沒雲臺看看吧

"Road to Sinking Cloud Cliffs"

 

If autumn comes into your head

And falling leaves fall to every train of your thought,

Drink a ladle of water at Painted Rock Springs

And go see Sinking Cloud Cliffs.

The place where by the precipices of layered rocks

Stream waters bluer than tears meander through,

And the whole life collapses absurdly in the bends now and then

And roll around on piled rocks.

The place where the clouds could fall to your forehead,

As you, having renounced your body and given up your heart,

Stand before a pine tree hit by lightning,

And smile for you, saying, you're right, you're right.

If life is hard

And there's no more place for you to go,

Why don't you send away the last bus, and swagger

To Sinking Cloud Cliffs to look around.

 

               Note: Mor-un-dae, translated here as "Sinking Cloud Cliffs," is one of the "Eight Magnificent Sceneries in Hwa-am (Painted Rocks) Region" located around Chōng-sōn, Kang-won Province in Korea.

"몰운대 가는 길"

 

머리에 가을이 들어와

생각마다 온통 낙엽이 지거든

화암에서 약수 한 바가지 마시고

몰운대 한 번 가 보렴

층층이 쌓인 벼랑에

눈물보다 파란 시냇물이 휘돌아 나가고

때로는 구비에서 허망하게 무너져 내린

일생이 돌 더미로 뒹구는 곳

몸을 버리고 마음도 버리고

벼락 맞은 소나무 앞에 서면

이마 닿는 곳까지 구름이 내려와

그래 그래 웃어주는 곳

사는 게 어려워

더 갈 데가 없다면

막차도 보내고 휘적휘적 걸어서

몰운대 한 번 가 보렴
