〈和四弟應中韻〉

 

常思臥翠微，製得芰荷衣。

炯炯抱此志，千秋覽德輝。

 

               注：詩人四弟是李嵩逸（字應中，號恆齋，1631-1698）。父親李時明（字晦溪，號石溪，1590-1674）因丙子胡亂慷慨，隱居英陽建草堂。四子李嵩逸繼續講學，後代為之建書堂，命名為石川書堂。二句用《離騷》：「製芰荷以為衣兮，集芙蓉以為裳。」

"네째 아우 응중 시의 운으로 화답한다"

 

비췻빛 산언덕에 은거하고

연잎으로 저고리를 짓겠다고 늘 생각했지

그 뜻을 안고 불꽃처럼 살아가니

그 힘의 광채가 가을 천 번이 지나도 보일 것이네

 

           주: 시인의 네째 아우는 이숭일(자는 응중, 호는 항재, 1631-1698) 입니다. 이숭일은 부친 이시명(자는 회숙, 호는 석계, 1590-1674)이 병자호란의 참담한 기억을 안고 영양으로 은거해 지은 초당에서 강학을 계속해 많은 학자들이 모였다고 하고, 그 후손들이 석천서당을 세워 기렸다고 합니다. 둘째 구절은 굴원 《이소》의 다음 구절을 사용합니다. "연잎으로 만들어 저고리로 입고, 부용을 모아 치마로 입었다."

"Echoing the Rhyming of a Poem by My Fourth Brother Ūng-jung"

 

Always in your thoughts are living secluded in jade mountains

And tailoring lotus leaves to make your jacket.

You hold those intents and live like shining splendors.

The glory of your cultivated power will be seen for a thousand autumns.

 

               Note: The fourth brother in the poet's siblings is Yi Sung-il (1631-1698), whose childhood name was Ūng-jung. He continued to live and lecture at a cottage built by his father, Yi Shi-myōng (1590-1674), for the frustration and humiliation felt through the experience in the Qing invasion in 1636. The second line alludes to the following expression in the Lisao, "Encountering Sorrow," by Qu Yuan (?-278 BCE): "Tailoring lotus leaves to make a jacket; putting together hibiscus to make a skirt."
