經過景福宮

渡越了禁川市場

你會遇到白驢， 你

把不開花的外面世界暫時擱到一邊

看看櫻花茸茸開

吃碗熱湯麵的時間裏

白色花瓣匆匆離去

湧來的朶朶雪花

敲敲窗戶

撲撲悸動的心臟靜下來啦？

我替你送白驢去吧

平安無事地越過酷寒冬季的你

過去那綠青青的故事

牠會載著一步步地來

白驢迷了路啦？

隨著風聲來吧

隨著水聲洞溪谷的水聲來吧

你會看到燈光裏搖晃的窩棚

我們聽一會兒白驢

用榨蓖麻油的聲音

徐徐給我們讀的詩，好嗎？

"Have You Met the White Donkey?"

-       In the Style of Paek-sōk's Poetry

 

Pass by the Prodigious Blessing (Kyōng-bok) Palace,

Go through the Forbidden Stream (Kūm-ch'ōn) Market,

And you will meet a white donkey. You

Shall set aside for now the outside world of no flowers,

And look at the cherry flowers blooming ebulliently.

While you eat a bowl of hot noodles,

White flowers leave in haste

And snowflakes swarm in

To stroke the window panes.

You mean, your palpitating heart has now calmed down?

I will send you a white donkey.

He will come ploddingly to you, carrying

Old stories of yours, of being fresh and green

After enduring the severe winter without a hitch.

Did you say that the white donkey lost his way?

Follow along the words of the wind,

And the sound of water in the stream of Water-sound Grove,

You will see a hut waving in the lamp light.

Let us listen a while

To poems the white donkey reads for us at a leisurely pace

In a voice of pressing for castor oil, okay?

금천시장을 건너오면

흰 당나귀를 만날 거예요, 당신은

꽃피지 않는 바깥세상일랑 잠시 접어두고

몽글몽글 피어나는 벚꽃을 바라보아요

뜨거운 국수를 먹는 동안

흰 꽃들은 서둘러 떠나고

밀려드는 눈송이가

창문을 두드려요

펄떡이던 심장이 잔잔해졌다고요?

흰 당나귀를 보내드릴게요

혹한의 겨울을 무사히 지낸

푸릇푸릇했던 당신의 옛이야기를

타박타박 싣고 올 거예요

흰 당나귀가 길을 잃었다고요?

바람의 말과

수성동 계곡의 물소리를 따라오세요

불빛에 흔들리는 마가리가 보일 겁니다

우리 잠시, 흰 당나귀가

아주까리기름 쪼는 소리로

느릿느릿 읽어주는 시를 들어보자고요
