"What Today Will Do Next"

 

To tuck the seeds in the seedpod

to keep them safe and well,

 

To gather the wind hanging in the branches

and lay it gently on the lawn,

 

To take the dreams to watch at night,

and set them for around two o'clock in the morning,

 

And then, what Today will do next,

 

Is to close its eyes softly

and drift away into thought.

 

Autum shall be laid to rest

in the autumn fields,

 

Clouds shall be dried

and hung high up in the sky,

 

A few cosmos flowers will be arranged

to keep blooming by the roadside,

 

And then, what today must do,

 

Just in case winter

should feel lonely or left out,

 

Is to take a step a day, a step a day,

to go out and welcome it.

그 다음 오늘이 할 일은

 

두 눈을 지그시 감고

생각에 잠기는 일이다

 

가을은 가을  밭에

묻어놓고

 

구름은 말려서

하늘 높이 올려놓고

 

몇 송이 코스모스를

길가에 계속 피게 해 놓고

 

그 다음 오늘이 할 일은

 

다가오는 겨울이

섭섭하지 않도록

 

하루 한 걸음씩 하루 한 걸음씩

마중가는 일이다
