김극기, "시골 오두막집 村家"

金克己（號老峰，生卒年不詳，高麗明宗朝，1170-1197，人）

 

〈村家〉

 

靑山斷處兩三家，

抱壠縈回一徑斜。

讖雨癈池蛙閣閣，

相風高樹鵲査査。

境幽柳巷埋荒草，

人寂柴門掩落花。

塵外勝遊聊自適，

笑他奔走覓紛華。

 

               注：三句癈池，猶廢池。讀頷聯〈癈池〉與〈高樹〉，可參考姜夔〈揚州慢〉「自胡馬、窺江去後，廢池喬木，猶厭言兵。」句。

"시골 오두막집"

 

푸른 산이 잦아드는 곳

      오두막 두세 채

언덕을 안고 감아 돌며

      비스듬히 걸린 길 하나

 

황폐한 연못에는 비 올 날을 예언하는

      개구리들 개굴개굴;

높은 나무에는 바람 불 때를 점치는

      까치들 까악까악

 

깊숙한 버드나무 골목이

      무성한 풀에 묻혔고;

사람 소리 없는 사립문은

      떨어지는 꽃잎이 가렸습니다

 

속세 밖 좋은 경치를 노닐고

      마음 편하게 하면서

떠들썩한 곳을 찾아 다니며

      분주한 사람들 향해 웃습니다

 

           주: 둘째 연의 "황폐한 연못"과 "높은 나무"는 강기(姜夔, 1155-1208)의 "양주만"의 다음과 같은 귀절을 생각하며 읽으면 좋을 듯합니다: "오랑캐의 말이 양자강을 보고 돌아간 후, 황폐한 연못과 키 큰 나무들이 군대 이야기를 꺼리는 듯합니다."

"Rustic Cottages"

 

Two or three cottages

        Where green mountains end,

A slanted path,

        Hugging and spiraling up the hills—

 

Croak-croak, frogs in the ruined pond

        Prophesy rainy days;

Chatter-chatter, magpies on tall trees

        Are foreboding a windy time.

 

Deep willow lanes

        Are buried under overgrown weeds;

A brushwood gate without human traces

        Is covered by fallen flowers

 

Through beautiful places beyond the dusty world,

        I saunter as my spirit prompts,

And laugh at those rushing busily,

        Chasing the noisy hubbub.

 

               Note: Reading of the second couplet can be enriched by recalling the following lines in Jiang Kui's "To the Tune of Yangzhouman": "Since barbarian's horses returned after seeing the Long River, ruined ponds and tall trees detest the talks of the military."
