〈送李上舍文哲赴燕〉

 

幽燕從古戰場多，

聽慣前人出塞歌。

馬上摩挲三尺劍，

連天風雪意如何。

 

       注：首句〈幽燕〉為今河北之北及遼寧一帶。唐以前屬幽州，是戰國時燕國之地，故稱。

유연幽燕지역은 옛날부터 전쟁터가 많아서

지난 날 사람들 출정의 노래가 귀에 익습니다

이미 말 위에서 세 척의 칼을 어루만지고 있는데

매일 계속되는 눈바람은 무슨 뜻일까요

 

     주: 첫 구절의 〈유연幽燕〉은 지명으로 지금의 하북성 북부와 요녕성 일대를 지칭합니다. 당나라 전에는 유주幽州에 속했고, 전국시대에는 연燕나라의 영토였기 때문에 생긴 명칭입니다.

        The war songs of the people of the past.

As you gently stroke a three-foot sword

        Already on the horseback,

What does the snowy wind mean

        To blow day after day?

 

       Note: "You-Yan" is the name of a place, which includes the present-day northern part of Hebei and Liaoning.  Named as such because the region belonged to Youzhou before Tang, and to Yan in the Warring States period.
