苦海茫茫回首處，

幾般熱惱幾般閒。

白雲流水還平地，

未信從前石路艱。

"부왕사에서" 두 수의 둘째

 

끝없는 고통의 바다를

         고개 돌려 바라보는 곳

얼마나 뜨겁게 번뇌하고

         또 얼마나 빈둥댔나요

 

물 흘러가는 흰 구름 저쪽은

         다시 평평한 땅이지만

이제껏 지나온 돌길이

         어렵다고 믿지 않았습니다

A place to turn around to look

            At the boundless sea of bitter sufferings—

How much have I agonized intensely,

            And how much did I idle?

 

Beyond the while clouds to where water flows

            Is again a level land,

But I have never believed

            The rocky paths I walked on have been arduous.
