〈壬寅冬至候外孫子一周歲〉

 

雖缺一餐紅豆粥，

欣逢永夜有遐福。

去年聖誕外孫生，

今後兩人同慶祝。

"임인년 동짓날 외손자의 돌잔치를 기다립니다"

 

팥죽 한 그릇을

         먹지 못하기는 했어도

기쁘게 맞이하는 이 긴긴 밤

         오래 계속될 행복이 있습니다

작년 성탄에

         외손자가 태어났지요

지금부터는 둘이

         함께 생일을 축하합니다

Though I did not get to eat

            A bowl of red bean porridge,

This long night that I welcome joyfully

            Holds a promise of long-lasting happiness.

My grandson was born

            On the day of Holy Birth last year,

And from now on,

            The two will celebrate their birthday together.
