黃悏（字樂夫，號獨梧堂，1606-1686）

 

〈水石洞懷許遁村〉

 

休榻香猶聞，岩湫水自舂。

所思人不見，獨立撫寒松。

 

               注：水石洞與許遁村為何地何人，尙未能確認。許穆（字文甫、和甫，號眉叟，1595-1682）是詩人之至交，遁村一名字意似乎能掌握許穆生涯，但未見用為其號。

"수석동에서 허둔촌을 그리워합니다"

 

평상에 누워 쉬니 향기가 들리는 듯하고

바위 사이로 흐르는 물이 스스로 방아를 찧습니다

그리운 사람은 보이지 않아

홀로 서서 싸늘한 소나무를 어루만집니다

 

           주: 수석동과 허둔촌이 어디이고 어떤 사람인지 아직 확인할 수 없었습니다. 허목(자는 문보, 화보, 호는 미수, 1595-1682)이 평생 서로 아끼던 사람이라 알려져 있습니다. 둔촌, 즉 은둔해 사는 마을이라는 이름이 허목 생애의 중요한 부분을 말해주는 듯하지만, 그가 둔촌이라는 호를 사용한 기록은 아직 보지 못했습니다.

"Longing for Hō Tunch'on at Rocks-in-Water Grove"

 

Resting on a couch, I seem to hear the fragrance.

Water amidst rocks is pounding in a mortar by itself.

The person I long for is not here to see,

And I stand alone, patting on a chill pine tree.

 

               Note: The location of the grove and the identity of Hō Tun-ch'on mentioned in the title have yet to be confirmed. Hō Mok (1595-1682) is said to be a close friend of the poet. The literal meaning of the name, Tun-ch'on, "village for recluse," seems fitting to the character, respected greatly by the court and many scholars, but lived many years of his life not serving for the government. However, it is unclear if he ever used that as a sobriquet.
