〈後三日又書〉
客有問於我，異哉軒名睡。
軒名亦多義，子何取於睡。
萬事壞於懶，懶習毋如睡。
虞舜鷄鳴起，孶孶何暇睡。
大禹惜寸陰，克勤焉得睡。
所以糞土墻，聖責宰予睡。
聞言一菀爾，子豈知我睡。
無事乃得睡，有事何以睡。
焉知我之睡，賢於人不睡。
言罷隱几卧，客亦相對睡。

"사흘 만에 또 쓰는 잠자는 동헌"
손님이 내게 묻습니다
"참 특이합니다, 동헌의 이름이 잠?"
"동헌 이름에 여러 뜻이 있는데
그대는 무엇을 얻는 게 잠?
모든 일이 망가지는 건 게으름 탓
게으른 습관 중에서 제일 못된 건 잠.
순임금은 닭 울면 일어나
이일 저일로 바빴는데 무슨 여가에 잠?
우임금은 짧은 시간도 아꼈는데
애써 일하면서 어떻게 잠?
그래서 똥 섞인 흙이라고
공자님이 재여를 질책한 이유도 잠.
내 말을 듣고 웃고 있는데
그대가 나에 대해 아는 게 어찌 오직 잠?
일이 없으면 잘 수 있지만
일이 있는데 잠은 무슨 잠?
그대가 어찌 알 수 있겠어요, 나의 잠보다
어질지 못한 것이 사람들이 자지 않는 잠.
말을 마치고 책상에 기대어 누우니
손님 또한 마주하며 잠."

"Writing Again Three Days Later on the Sleeping County Office"
A guest asks me by saying,
Unusual it is that your office is named sleeping.
I say, the name of the office has many meanings,
I wonder what it is that you take from sleeping.
A myriad things go awry because of laziness,
And no other lazy habits are comparable to sleeping.
The legendary sage king Shun, who rose at cockcrow
And busy all day, didn't have time to spare for sleeping.
The great sage king Yu, skimping on time
And working diligently, could not be sleeping.
Thus, by calling "shitty mud,"
Confucius reprimanded Zai Yu for sleeping.
Hearing these words, you smile.
What do you know about my sleeping?
Without anything to attend to, I get to sleep,
But when there is something to do, how could I be sleeping?
How could you know that by sleeping
I could be more virtuous than people who are not sleeping?
Having finished my reply, I lean over on the desk to sleep,
And the guest, too, responds by falling into sleeping.
