〈次趙月川韻〉

 

軒冕忘情久，琴書得趣深。

虛堂端坐處，明月照天心。

 

               注：趙穆（字士敬，號月川，1524-1606），朝鮮中期之學者，退溪李滉之門生。

 

이준 (자는 숙평, 호는 창석, 1560-1635)

 

"월천 조목 선생님의 운을 따라"

 

벼슬하려는 뜻을 잊은 지 오래되니

가야금과 책의 맛을 더 깊이 느낍니다

텅 빈 방 단정히 앉은 곳으로

밝은 달이 하늘의 마음을 내리비춥니다

 

           주: 월천은 조선 중기의 유학자인 조목 (자는 사경, 1524-1606)의 아호입니다. 조목은 퇴계 이황(1502-1571)의 문하생입니다.

"Following the Rhyming of Master Moonlit Stream, Cho Mok"

 

Being oblivious for long of the wishes to rise in official rank,

I find deeper tastes of zithers and books.

To the place I sit straight up in an empty hall,

The bright moon casts the heavenly intent.

 

               Note: "Moonlit Stream (Wōl-ch'ōn)" is the sobriquet of Cho Mok (1524-1606), a Confucian scholar of mid-Chosōn dynasty.  He was a student of T'oe-gye Yi Huang (1502-1571).
