梅花莫嫌小，花小風味長。

乍見竹外影，時聞月下香。

 

성윤해 (자는 화중, 호는 판고, 16세기말)

매화가 작다고 탓하지 마세요

꽃은 작아도 멋진 맛이 오래 갑니다

대나무 숲 밖으로 언뜻 그림자가 보이고

때로는 달빛 아래 향내를 느낍니다

Don't complain that plum flowers are small.
