夕陽江上笛，細雨渡江人。

餘響杳無處，江花樹樹春。

해질녘 강 위 피리소리

가랑비 속 강 건너는 사람

남은 여운 아득해 어디서 들리는지 모르는데

강가엔 꽃 핀 나무마다 봄이네

 

           주: 능소대는 경기도 화성시 부근에 위치한 암석 봉우리입니다.

"Listening to the Flute under the Rocks Rising High"

 

The sound of the flute on the river at sunset.

A traveler fording the river in a drizzling rain.

Lingering echoes are distant and come from nowhere certain.

Tree after tree, flowering by the river, is the season of spring.

 

               Note: Nūng-so-dae, translated here as "Rocks Rising high," is located near the city of Hwa-sōng in Korea.
